Schumer awaiting Syria details

President Barack Obama has been meeting with Congressional leaders today to try to win their backing for a strike against Syria.

An article on the Washington Post's website says that, after closed-door meetings with the president, Republican House Speaker John Boehner, Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi all back the Obama administration's plan. The article also says that the administration is meeting with top House and Senate members from both parties, and that the administration is willing to rewrite a proposed resolution to address some of their concerns.

This morning, Senator Chuck Schumer held a press conference in Chili on a separate matter. But he did take a few moments to talk about Syria. He said that he's waiting for a briefing from the administration before commenting on specifics. In the video clip below, he says the resolution will have to be narrowed to pass Congress. Specifically, it'll have to be written so that "it doesn't allow any troops on the ground," he said.
