There may be news this week about Rochester City Council member Adam McFadden’s political future. McFadden has told local media that he will decide this week whether or not to seek re-election. His term is up this year.

McFadden represents the South District on Council. He was also interim head of the Rochester Housing Authority until a federal agency said that he couldn't do both. So McFadden likely is deciding whether he wants to stay on Council or go after the still-available RHA job. BY CHRISTINE CARRIE FIEN

The Henrietta Town Board will hold a public hearing on its draft rental registry law at 7 p.m. today (Monday, February 23) at Town Hall, 475 Calkins Road.

Under the proposal, property owners would have to register each rental unit in single- or two-family homes by September 15 every year. The units would also be subject to inspection by Henrietta's code enforcement officer. Units that pass inspection would get a certificate of compliance, which is good for three years provided that the apartment is properly registered each year. BY JEREMY MOULE

The University of Rochester and East High School will hold a family information session at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, at East High, 1801 East Main Street. The UR will take over management of East this summer for grades 6 to 12.

At the session, parents and students can take a tour of the school and learn more about the planned programs and extracurricular activities. BY TIM LOUIS MACALUSO
