Week Ahead: For the week of Monday, December 14

Posted By on Mon, Dec 14, 2015 at 9:29 AM

Governor Andrew Cuomo will stop in Rochester this afternoon (Monday, December 14) to present the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council with its Upstate Revitalization award.

The council learned it would receive one of the three $500 million awards during a ceremony last week. Cuomo’s visit today is more or less a publicity stop.

In its application for the funding, the regional council emphasized the optics, photonics, and imaging industry; the food and agriculture industry; and high-tech manufacturing. It also ties the work in to the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative.

The Rochester City School District will hold two events involving the Community Task Force on School Climate and Discipline.

The task force will hold two focus groups to gather input and ideas on discipline and parent engagement. The events will be held on Tuesday, December 15, at School 33’s library, 500 Webster Avenue, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, December 16, in Wilson Foundation’s cafeteria, 200 Genesee Street, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. BY TIM LOUIS MACALUSO
