FESTIVAL: Fairport Scarecrow Festival (10/13)

Get the stuffing out at Fairport's annual Scarecrow Festival, featuring the regular festival food and fun, plus seasonal activities like pumpkin-painting, "agri-art," and dozens of brightly festooned scarecrows. This year's theme is "A Day in Oz," and includes an outdoor screening of "The Wizard of Oz" at 7 p.m. and an Oz-inspired costume contest before the film. If you're really in a Baum-y mood, channel your inner Dorothy into the scarecrow-making contest and recreate your favorite character from the film.
The festival takes place Saturday, October 13, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., in Fairport's business district on Main Street. Admission to the festival is free, but it costs $10 to enter the scarecrow contest. For more information visit fairportmerchants.com.Article Photos
