If the geeks ever inherit the earth, then SNMNMNM will surely become royalty. In the meantime, while the world remains openly hostile and unforgiving toward nerdish tendencies, SNMNMNM's quirky brand of bright, shiny pop makes life somewhat more bearable for the bespectacled, lovelorn sci-fi lovers who walk with awkward social grace among us. Now based in Chapel Hill, this group of Rochester natives could have easily fizzled into novelty-act status if not for its dedicated work ethic and persistence under the leadership of frontman Seamus Kenney. It's been a long time since bands like Weezer were in, but Kenney and company always had their eyes on a less-traveled, artier path.
