The new Gaylord is like the old Gaylord, and the Gaylord that will always be. New disc "Resplendent Locution" is funky, sly, abstract, obtuse, irreverent, and funny as hell. A Gaylord show will give you whiplash as the trio fans the pages as if ruled by distraction. It's deceptively brilliant, but it's always over before you know it, and frankly gone too soon. Fortunately the new album is a little longer than that and it's gonna get unleashed on y'all when Gaylord plays with Captain Cutthroat and Rick Eliot this week at the Bug Jar.
