"At The Point," Matt Nathanson's live album from a few years back, proved that his studio output isn't all smoke and overdubs. Nathanson is essentially a storyteller with an aw-shucks charm and humor about him. I think we're ushering in a new era of the songwriter where talent and charm can take a back seat to great songs. However, Nathanson is talented, charming, and writes great songs. Check out his new "Some Mad Hope," or better yet dig him live when he plays Water Street this week.
