TOUR: Mark Twain Cruise (10/17-10/18)

Published by Dale Evans on Oct 10, 2007

As you enter the Genesee River gorge, the City's bustle and noise slips away and you're transported to a quieter, easier time. You begin to feel like not-a-care-in-the-world Huckleberry Finn floating down the Mississippi on a raft. Let's take a float down that lazy river.

The Harbor Towne Belle, the region's only authentic paddleboat, offers such an experience with their Mark Twain Cruise. Hollywood actor and director Tim McCormack embodies Twain throughout the two-and-a-half hour cruise, sharing Twain's humorous, charming, and sometimes biting commentaries on the human condition.

The Belle is located at the Port of Rochester in Charlotte. Board the Twain Cruise Wednesday and Thursday, October 17 and 18, at noon, with a dinner cruise at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The $27.50 boarding pass includes food from the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and a cash bar. Go to the website at harbortownbelle.com for a full list of departures or call 342-1810 to make a reservation.
