Memorial tree planting
The city's recreation and forestry departments will plant trees in memory of city forester Richard Nolan on Saturday, November 17. Take a shovel, gloves, and bucket to Jones Square Park (Jones and Plymouth Avenues) at 9:30 a.m. Information: 428-6770.

The Interfaith Forum of Rochester will hold a discussion on Islam on Thursday, November 15 at the Islamic Center of Rochester, 727 Westfall Road, at 7 p.m.
A public role for prayer?
The Genesee Valley Chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union/ACLU will hold a discussion, "The Role of Public Prayer," at Greece Town Hall, 1 Vince Tofany Boulevard, on Thursday, November 15, at 7 p.m.
Cala at UR
The UR's Warner School of Education will hold a talk with William Cala, interim superintendent of city schools, on No Child Left Behind and urban education on Monday, November 19, at the Interfaith Chapel, River Campus, at 7 p.m.
Rabbinic forum at the JCC
The Jewish Community Center will host a Rabbinic Forum on Thursday, November 15 at 1200 Edgewood Avenue, at 7 p.m.
Ring in on The Reserve
A public hearing on an environmental review of Anthony Costello and Son's The Reserve at Brighton is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, at Brighton Town Hall, 2300 Elmwood Avenue.
