Based in nearby Trumansburg, this rootsy five-piece incorporates heavy elements of bluegrass, folk, and zydeco, and has a devoted audience that follows the jam band mold of show-taping and intensive play-by-play analysis of nightly variations in the band's live show. Despite its many stylistic ingredients, however, Donna The Buffalo has an agreeable, easy-to-digest sound that's like a kind of sedated version of Southern rock, albeit with an underlying indigenous twist that subtly suggests our Finger Lakes area.
