Let's face it: shopping malls just plain suck during the holidays. Lines stretch from the cash register to Iceland, fake Christmas trees blind you at every turn, and if you hear "Holly Jolly Christmas" one more time, you're going to punch someone in the face. RIT offers a shopping alternative with the School for American Crafts Student Holiday Sale, which includes a plethora of handmade art and crafts. The students specialize in ceramics, glass, wood, and metals, so this is your chance to get a piece by someone who could become and arts and crafts superstar.
The sale takes place Wednesday and Thursday, December 12-13, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. in the lobby of RIT's Student Alumni Union. Admission is free For more information call 475-6114 or visit rit.edu.
