Cala and Brizard joint meeting

Rochester City School interim Superintendent Bill Cala and incoming Superintendent Jean-Claude Brizard will hold a town-hall-style meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 13 at School 4, 195 Dr. Samuel McCrey Way.

Business group focuses on Zero Tolerance

The Hudson Business Association will hold its year-end meeting to discuss Zero Tolerance and policing policies at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 17, at 1370 Hudson Avenue.

9/11 conspiracy film

Rochester 9/11 Truth and Patriots of Western New York will show the documentary film by Dylan Avery "Loose Change Final Cut," which claims that the attacks of 9/11 were orchestrated from within the US. The showing is at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, at the Cinema Theatre, 957 South Clinton Avenue at South Goodman Street. Tickets: $8

Free computers for kids

The city will offer an opportunity for youths ages 6 to 14 to earn a free refurbished computer and training during a free 10-week KidTech Computer Course. There are two sessions: January 8 to March 20 and April 22 to June 26. Enrollment information: 428-7934.

Peace vigils

Local peace advocates from the faith community will hold "Bring Them Home Now" vigils at three locations on Wednesday, December 19: 220 South Winton Road from 7:30 to 9 a.m.; the corner of Park Avenue and Culver Road from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.; and 644 Titus Avenue from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

Pot luck and serious discussion

The Rochester Committee on Latin America will hold a pot luck and a talk, "Understanding the Crisis that is America," with the Rev. Philip Wheaton, at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 14, at Downtown United Presbyterian Church, 121 North Fitzhugh Street.
