Global trade talk

RIT will present "Global Trade and Conflicting National Interest," a discussion with Ralph Gomory, president of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 7 at RIT's Golisano's College Auditorium.

ACLU has REAL ID forum

The New York Civil Liberties Union will hold a forum with speaker Udi Ofer from the New York office of the ACLU on the REAL ID Act at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11 at the First Unitarian Church, 220 South Winton Road.

The lowdown on the subprime crash

The New York State Coalition of Property Owners and Businesses will present a discussion on the subprime crash and what it means to city investors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6 at the Wishing Well Party House, 1190 Chili Avenue. Cost for nonmembers: $15.

Gardner headlines League event

The League of Women Voters will present "Local Development Corporations," a talk with Kent Gardner, president and chief economist for The Center for Governmental Research, at 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 6 at the AAUW House, 494 East Avenue.

Saving, celebrating city schools

A panel of UR students who attended city schools will be joined by Rochester school district interim Superintendent Bill Cala for "Real Talk: The Struggles and Successes of the RCSD," a discussion of the major issues facing the district at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, in the UR's Dewey Hall.

Down on Susan B.'s street

The Urban Design Studio at Alfred State College in partnership with the Rochester Regional Community Design Center will present six concepts to revitalize the historic Susan B. Anthony neighborhood at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 7 at Hungerford Building, 1115 East Main Street, door #4.

To Iran and back

Teacher Tom Moore will talk about his experiences in Iran at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12 at Brighton Memorial Library, 2300 Elmwood Avenue.
