KIDS: "Sweet Creations" gingerbread display

Published by Susannah Snider on Dec 11, 2007

From the rich, spicy base to the candy cane adornments, gingerbread houses can make any Grinch feel warm and fuzzy inside. To celebrate the holidays, the George Eastman House hosts its annual "Sweet Creations" gingerbread house display through Thursday, December 13. More than 70 gingerbread houses fill George's historic house, which is decked with out with old-fashioned holiday decorations, several Christmas trees, and an antique toy train. Visitors can decorate their own life-sized homes like the George Eastman House by purchasing the gingerbread houses in a silent auction on Thursday as part of the Holiday Homecoming, which runs 5-8 p.m.

Admission is included in regular museum admission: $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for students, $3 for children 5-12, and free for children under 4. For more information call 271-3361 or visit eastmanhouse.org.- BY SUSANNAH SNIDER
