SPECIAL EVENT: Native American Winter Festival (12/8)

Published by Susannah Snider on Dec 05, 2007

As winter rolls around, it's hard to avoid the constant Christmas celebrations. Sometimes we forget that there exists a cornucopia of cultures that celebrate alternative holidays and festivals during the wintertime. On Saturday, December 8, the Ganondagan Native American community throws its annual Native American Winter Festival & Art Market. The Gonondagan's Young Spirit Dancers will perform Iroquois social dances and Native American artists from the United States and Canada will display crafts. There will be family arts activities, raffles, a gift shop, and food.

The Festival takes place at East High School, 1801 E. Main Street. The celebration runs 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and costs $3 for adults and $1 for students 12 and under. For more information, contact 742-1690.
