You ain't gotta be a sci-fi geek, a porno freak, or a tweaker to dig Tripthrottle. Tripthrottle kickstarts the booty shake with that sexed-up sub-low throb that's at the heart of all decent post-disco dance music. The sound on this Rochester duo's brand new disc, "Wild Kingdom," is awash in ambient tones and atmospheric explorations. It's all tremendously tight and innovative. Yet the real detour is the heavy guitar slashing away at the mix, giving it a half-man, half-machine tack. Got a money maker? All attempts to keep it still will be futile, silly human.
