Tullamore Celtic Band "Se Do Bheatha Bhaile: Welcome Home"
Self-released

If you think Irish music is strictly awash in beer - and the storied highs and lows associated with being awash in beer - you're missing the point. And you probably haven't heard Rochester's Tullamore Celtic Band's new "Se Do Bheatha Bhaile: Welcome Home." Yes, Celtic music is good for hoisting a pint or two, but the timeless fortitude in its cadence speaks much more to the culture. Tullamore Celtic Band plays songs rooted in Irish beauty and simplicity. When sung in Gaelic, you're left to regard the voice an instrument; when sung in English, the folk tales spun over many years still find relevance. This trio swings with a gentle strength and Irish authenticity. Pure, simple, and sweet. The band holds a CD release party/jam Saturday, December 8, at the Charlotte Tavern, 2 River St, 8 p.m.
