DOWNTOWN: Still waiting for Midtown decision

The city's option to buy Midtown Plaza expires on Wednesday, and this afternoon, city officials still hadn't learned whether they could get an extension. Riedman Properties, the developer who hopes to create an Italian market in part of the complex, has been negotiating with Midtown's owner on the extension possibility. City Council, which would have to approve an option extension or a purchase, meets tomorrow night.
