FESTIVAL: Lakeside Winter Celebration (2/11)

The 23rd Annual Lakeside Winter Celebration takes place Sunday, February 11, noon-4 p.m. at Ontario Beach Park. Kicked off by the Polar Plunge --- in which more than 500 winter lovers dive into the frigid temps of Lake Ontario to raise money for the New York Special Olympics --- the event includes the Chilly Chili Challenge, where contestants compare spicy concoctions for the title of Best Chili in Rochester. Casa Larga Vineyard will offer wine samples for a $2 donation. Professional ice sculptors will carve 300 lb. ice blocks into Valentine-themed shapes.
