There's another reason to frequent Lux Lounge in addition to the cheap Pabst Blue Ribbon, pool table, and outdoor bonfire --- the art exhibitions. The indy-hip bar continuously features the work of promising new artists, and Lux's current exhibition, work by Alfred University student Kaiyutah, is no exception. Kaiyutah's digitally produced images fall somewhere between intricate collage and illustration. The large prints (some up to 10' long) are a veritable melting pot of artistic styles and mediums. Undeniably chaotic, but also relentlessly fascinating, the images supply so many elements that your eyes search endlessly for all of the details. The prints can be dystopic at times, but the artist's wit and humor are also evident.
The exhibition remains on display through spring. Lux Lounge is located at 666 South Avenue. For more information, call 232-9030.
