This week's calls to citizenship include the following events and activities. (All are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted.)

Israeli storyteller Noa Baum will present "A Land Twice Promised," her performance of the personal stories of Israeli and Palestinian women, at Temple B'rith Kodesh, 2131 Elmwood Avenue, at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 10. The program is sponsored by the Islamic Center of Rochester, Temple B'rith Kodesh, and Third Presbyterian Church. Baum created the work in an effort to promote understanding among people on opposite sides of conflicts.

What will a wall 700 miles long at our southern border accomplish? St. Mary's Church and the Interfaith Alliance will hold a panel discussion on immigration and undocumented workers at 6 p.m. Monday, March 12, at St. Mary's Church downtown. The speakers will be Sr. Gaye Moorhead, president of the Sisters of Mercy, and Walter Ruehle, director of the Immigration Program at the Legal Aide Society of Rochester.

Kennedy Lawson Smith, an expert on commercial district revitalization, will explain why downtown has to be cool in her talk, "Destination Main Street," at Third Presbyterian Church, East Avenue and Meigs Street, at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15. Smith's lecture is part of the Reshaping Rochester 2007 lecture series, sponsored by the Rochester Regional Community Design Center and Preferred Care.
