I believe that Monroe County veterans, including combat veterans, are being discriminated against and punished as much as those at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC.
At a time of increasing violence and attacks on our service people, how does it make sense to close the Canandaigua Veteran's Hospital psychiatric unit? Have the Washington bureaucrats weighed the impact on both aging and young veterans who will now have to travel to Buffalo or Syracuse for treatment?
Why is it Rochester is the only major city to have only a small VA clinic when all other New York State cities have major hospitals?
As a wounded World War II combat veteran, I'd like to hear from both our US Senators and Congressmembers on this crying issue.
