The headline on the press release -- "WHAM Takes on a New Name" -- was a bit misleading. The
studios of the Clear Channel radio station are getting a new name, not the station itself. Still, the news gets our Curiosity of the Day Award. The station has sold naming rights, and its studios are now to be called "The Reliant Community Credit Union Broadcast Center."
Programming "will not be affected at all," insists the press release. "WHAM will continue to be the market leader for news and information." Uh huh.
"It's really just business as usual," says the press release.
Uh huh.
