POLITICS: Bush offers victory in Iraq

Published on Mar 13, 2007
President Bush has a clear plan for victory in Iraq that begins with training Iraqi forces so they can defend their country and fight the terrorists. We are making tremendous progress toward this objective. Withdrawing from Iraq, as Democrats in Washington propose, would send a dangerous signal to our enemies that we cut and run when the going gets tough. President Bush is offering a clear strategy to win, not a political quick fix.

The Democratic Party, led by John Murtha, shows a total disregard for our troops on the ground, the Iraqi people, and the safety and security here at home.

There is a clear disregard for what our intelligence agencies have warned, as well as what our military leaders on the ground and in the Pentagon have laid out for our success in Iraq. The Democrats want to deny the president his responsibility to lead as commander in chief of our military.

It is time that the American people demand that our representatives act on our behalf, by listening to what we have to say. The start of this Congressional session has been an attempt to control the government, with a total disregard for the working of the various branches of the government. I am ashamed of my representatives' performance and their disrespect for our president, and I will do everything in my power to work to unseat them and demand that they listen and respond to the voice of America.
