POLITICS: Morelle wants his old job back

State Assemblymember Joe Morelle will seek reelection as chair of the Monroe County Democratic Committee. Morelle stepped down from the position six weeks ago to pursue the state comptroller's job.
Interim Chair Jim Vogel, a Brighton town councilmember, will step down, and a meeting of the Democratic Committee has been called for Thursday to vote on the position.
Morelle is the only publicly announced candidate. Judging by the sentiments expressed by leading Democrats -- including Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy and Representative Louise Slaughter -- during a press conference this morning, Morelle a lock on the position.
