Like the GEICO caveman on the therapist couch, I respond with a question: "How would you like it if I said, 'Yeah, and City Newspaper is a possible sales siphoner of the Democrat and Chronicle"?
City has always had much more integrity than our hometown corporate giant, and all I am suggesting is that you do not let that credibility slip away. For many voters, Ralph Nader has been the only credible choice on the ballot.
Market shares and votes are not owned, they are earned. I would gladly pay a buck for my weekly issue of City. But cheap jabs and scapegoating politics tarnishes your alternative tagline.
"An Unreasonable Man's" co-producer and former Nader`s Raider Henriette Mantel says about her film: "So many people have screamed at me since the 2000 election. This film is for them." I saw this film during its limited engagement in Rochester and look forward to purchasing the DVD when it is released in June.
Thanks to our nation's Freedom of the Press, the American people can choose from among many publications. Yet our political choices are limited to one among many candidates, our popular choice trumped by an archaic electoral college, and full participation and fully accountable voting systems remain unattained goals.
Love him or hate him, Ralph Nader`s goal has always been the improvement of citizen power over corporate interests. Please consider the entire career of one of the most unique, important, and controversial political figures of our time.
