SPECIAL EVENT: Greater Rochester Home Show (3/16-3/18), GardenScape '07 (3/15-3/18)

Husbands of Rochester, beware: after this weekend your wives will have many more items tacked on to your to-do list. The Greater Rochester Home Show and GardenScape '07 both take place this week, offering countless ideas on how to beautify your home and garden.

The Home Show (March 16-18, Riverside Convention Center, downtown) features more than 350 exhibitors offering the latest home-improvement products and services. Highlights of the show include tours of a model, remodeled Victorian home; tips from painting guru Brian "The Wall Wizard" Santos; demos from home improvement experts, and more. The show runs Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $2 kids 6-12, $8 adults. For more information visit www.homeshowrochester.com.

GardenScape (March 15-18, Monroe County Fairgrounds, East Henrietta Road) focuses on what's outside your house, with more than 20 landscaped gardens exploring the theme "Drama in the Garden" through lighting, water, plans, and ornamentation. The show features more than 80 flower- and garden-related vendors, demonstrations and seminars, and a masquerade ball Friday at 8:30 p.m. GardenScape runs Thursday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets cost $10-$12, with an early bird tour Friday 7-9 a.m. for $15.
