LECTURE: Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust (4/15)

Yom HaShoah, which in Hebrew means "Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust," is Sunday, April 15. The Jewish Community Federation's Center for Holocaust Awareness and Information will hold its annual community commemoration to honor both the victims and survivors of the Holocaust. This year's program, titled "Transforming the Generations: Enduring Lessons of the Holocaust," will focus on individuals who learn about the Holocaust and go on to educate others. Nazareth College President Daan Braveman recently took students to visit the concentration camps in Poland, and he will deliver the evening's keynote address. Steven Hess, a local child survivor of the Holocaust, will also speak.
The program is free and open to the community. It will take place at the Jewish Community Center, 1200 Edgewood Avenue, at 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.jewishrochester.org or call 461-0490.
