TRAFFIC ALERT: Troup-Howell bridge closing for the weekend

Part of Interstate 490 --over the Genesee River, between Plymouth and Clinton Avenues in downtown Rochester -- will be closed in both directions this weekend while construction crews put concrete on the westbound span of the new Troup Howell Bridge. All lanes will be closed in that section to avoid bridge vibrations.
The highway will be closed from late Friday night, April 13, through 11 p.m. Sunday night, April 15. Highway officials recommend that I-490 traffic not headed to a downtown destination use Interstates 390 and 590 as alternate routes. For daily traffic reports, click here.
