Ever wanna get a song outta your head? Spin They Might Be Giants' "Instanbul (Not Constantinople)" and all annoying melodies will be flushed from your head...except now you'll have "Instanbul (Not Constantinople)" there instead. But it'll be cooler than, say, the Meow Mix jingle on perpetual loop. Since 1983 the two Johns - Flansburgh and Linnell - that originally made up the duo (now a fleshed-out band) have played quirky music that can often be misconstrued as a riddle. The enigmatic goofiness is amped a little by the band's self-deprecating image, but the music keeps it legit. Perhaps a little nerdy, but hell, aren't we all?
