Vice President Dick Cheney has again threatened Iran, the New York Times
is reporting. The Times says that Cheney, on the deck of a US aircraft carrier 150 miles off the coast of Iran, said the United States is prepared "to use its naval power to keep Tehran from disrupting ... oil routes or ‘gaining nuclear weapons and dominating this region.'"
The Times report says Cheney's speech had not been "circulated broadly" among US government officials before he gave it. "He kind of runs by his own rules," an unnamed American diplomat told the Times.
