“Going, going, gone!” Rochester Contemporary’s Big 3-0 Annual Art Auction begins Friday, June 22, at 6 p.m. Julian Montague is the featured artist for the gallery’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Other works by William Edwards, Nancy Jurs, Robert Marx, Lother Osterman, Patti Russotti, and Bill Stewart (to name a few) are also up for sale. Auctioneers include Mike Demming (RNews’ “The Antiques Guy”), Shirley Dawson (art critic for the D&C), Doug Rice (ARTWalk), and Sally Wood Winslow (Director, High Falls Fine Art Gallery). This year RoCo borrowed an idea from eBay and offers a Buy Now option on all artworks, so if the thought of a bidding war gives you hives, get down before the auction and stake your claim. Special gallery hours take place Wednesday and Thursday, June 20-21, 1-5 p.m. Tickets for the auction are $20 for RoCo members and $25 for the general public.
