Hailing from southern Louisiana, all the members of the Pine Leaf Boys can speak both English and French, and they can all play multiple instruments. Such eclecticism is surely reflected in their music, which takes fundamental Cajun and Creole traditions and infuses them with blues, funk, folk, and good ol' rock ‘n' roll. The Pine Leaf Boys are frenetic and passionate, which is probably a big reason they became the youngest band ever signed to the rootsy Arhoolie label, for which they've released two CDs, the latest being this year's "Blues de Musicien."
The Pine Leaf Boys play the Harmony House, 58 East Main Street in Webster, on Saturday, June 9, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day of show and can be purchased at the Bop Shop, Stutzman's Guitar Center, Aaron's Alley, and the Music Store, 586-0476 for information, all ages.
