Jack Sparrow would be nobody without an exciting soundtrack. This week The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra opens a treasure chest of film music in a concert of selections from popular movies including "Pirates of the Caribbean," John Williams' "The Patriot," and Jeff Tyzik's suite of music from great Westerns. If you go, you'll also hear American patriotic favorites such as "God Bless America" and "Stars and Stripes Forever" as well as perennially charming faves from "My Fair Lady," "Follies" and "Chicago." Soprano Jan Horvath sings. Jeff Tyzik conducts. Go early and unfurl your own chair. But beware: it's gonna to be packed.
The RPO performs Friday, June 22, at 7 p.m. in Pittsford, near Schoen Place, on the Erie Canal, free, 454-2100, www.rpo.org.
