FESTIVAL: Maplewood Rose Festival

Published on Jun 13, 2007

It's hard to ignore a rose, let alone 5,000 of them. The Maplewood Rose Festival opens its blooms this weekend, Friday, June 15, though Sunday, June 17, complete with walking tours of the Lower Gorge and the historic mansions that guard Lake Avenue, and several gardening tutorials for those dying for a green thumb of their very own. A Father's Day picnic will be held on Sunday.

The Maplewood Rose Festival takes place in the Maplewood Rose Garden, on the corner of Lake Avenue and Driving Park Boulevard. The festival runs Friday 6-10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission to the festival is free; house tours cost $7.50-$12. Call for 428-6770 or visit www.cityofrochester.gov for complete details.
