To call jazz guitarist Gene Bertoncini versatile would be an understatement. Throughout the past five decades he has played with contemporary jazz master Wayne Shorter, powerhouse drummer Buddy Rich, classic singer Tony Bennett and even the Metropolitan Opera House orchestra. And his solo work is simply gorgeous. But if his extraordinary guitar playing isn’t enough, he’s a natural wit when he engages in stage patter. It should be more than a great time when he shares the stage with another wonderful guitarist, Bob Sneider, at the Strathallan.
Gene Bertoncini joins Bob Sneider Friday and Saturday, June 22-23, 8:30 p.m.-midnight, at the Strathallan, 550 East Avenue. No cover.
