ART: "Comic Book Art/Satire"

Published on Jul 11, 2007

Subversive comic book artist Jason Yungbluth will show his work in the exhibition "Comic Book Art/Satire" at the Storefront Anti-War Crisis Center, 658 Monroe Avenue; the official opening and reception will take place Friday, July 13, 5-9 p.m. Based on his website, from which he sells a collection of his comics titled "Suicide Note," Yungbluth seems to be a bit of an oddball, but that's not necessarily a bad thing in a comic creator (see R. Crumb). His primary comic, "Deep Fried," is satirical and staunchly anti-war; his work should fit right in at the The Storefront Anti-War Crisis Center, where it will be exhibited through the end of July. Hours are Monday-Saturday noon-8 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m. For more information call 436-1786.
