ART: "Rochester Peregrine Falcons in Photography Art Show" (7/5)

Published on Jul 03, 2007

Since 1998, the Kodak Office Tower has been home to a pair of the fastest animals in the world: Peregrine falcons. Clocked in at more than 200 mph when they dive-bomb their prey, the species was for many years on the endangered species list, only recently rebounding thanks to urban habitats like the one here.

The newly renamed Rochester Falconcam (formerly the Kodak Birdcam) is now under the Genesee Valley Audubon Society's management, and a gala will be held at the Center at High Falls as a preview of the "Rochester Peregrine Falcons in Photography and Art Show." Hors d'oeuvres and New York wines will be served.

The gala will take place Saturday, July 7, 5-7 p.m. The Center at High Falls is located at 60 Browns Race. A $10-$15 donation is requested, with proceeds supporting the Rochester Falconcam. The falcon art show will open July 22 and run through September 4 at the Center. Visit www.rfalconcam.com to watch the falcons and www.gvaudubon.org for more information.
