In a few weeks the streets of Park Avenue will feel like an overstuffed calzone; people, like sauce, seeping out all of the edges, as the Park Avenue Festival makes its annual weekend landing. Before you can barely see the pavement, much less your surroundings, you have the chance to take a lingering look at what is Rochester's "it" neighborhood.
The City of Rochester's Tuesday Nature Nights explores the Park Avenue neighborhood by bike on Tuesday, July 24. Meet at Towner's Bicycle Shop (1048 University Avenue) at 6:15 p.m. to begin a leisurely roll to view the gardens and mansions along this historic area. The guided tour peaks atop Cobb's Hill Reservoir before it returns to the bike shop. There may even be a stop for ice cream. The ride is mostly on paths and sidewalks, with only slight grade changes.
