Ain't seen any real punk rock in a while? Pop bands with jagged Manic Panic haircuts and accelerated tempos filed under "punk" leaving you cold? Midnight Creeps are loud, snotty, vulgar, and got just what you need, slappy. With harsh vocals, raunchy guitar, a primal beat, and a nod to GG, Midnight Creeps is a band that employs every aspect forsaken by current punk (and a lot of rock 'n' roll). Punk isn't a spice for this band; it's the whole taco. You really oughta go. Unless you like your rocks on, that is.
Midnight Creeps play with The Sleazies and The UV Rays Tuesday, August 7, Bug Jar, 219 Monroe Avenue, 454-2966, 8 p.m., $6-$8, 18+.
