In conjunction with the Ontario County Historical Society's exhibit "Summer in the Finger Lakes...From Camps to Cottages," the Society is sponsoring a guided Historical Boat Tour this weekend on the Captain Gray. Take a peek inside the stories of the lake-side cottages and newer permanent homes along Canandaigua Lake while munching on a box lunch. Historian Preston Pierce will also speak on lake geology, early camps, Native Seneca legends, and the steamboat era.
The almost three-hour tour launches at noon on Thursday, August 16, although passengers must arrive at least 20 minutes before for boarding. The trip costs $24 and includes a box lunch and drink. Call 394-4975 for reservations.
