When Joe Beard had his Blues Union it was a guitar-playin' triple thrill. One of those guitarists was John Cole, a man who comped jazzy on his Jazzmaster and moved though rhythm changes super smooth. No matter how rough hewn the band laid it down, Cole was its velvety anchor. Cole has been on his own for a while now, and wouldn't you know it? The man croons as smoothly as he plays. You might as well say he's a soul singer. However, now as the frontman callin' the six-string shots, the notes have a little more bite. You'll like it, I guarantee.
