HEALTH CARE and black Americans: The Nazareth College Office of Multicultural Affairs will sponsor a reading and discussion with writer Harriet Washington on Tuesday, September 18. Washington, a fellow of the Harvard School of Public Health, will discuss her latest book, "Medical Apartheid," which examines how the medical establishment has mistreated and experimented on black Americans. The event will be held in the Forum and Reading Lounge from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
WALKING for Obama: Barack Obama Supporters of Rochester will hold a one-mile walk to promote the senator's presidential candidacy on Saturday, September 15. The walk will start at noon at Cobbs Hill Park, Culver Road entrance, and will end at Twelve Corners, Brighton.
HENRIETTA FORUM: Henrietta Neighbors United will hold a candidates forum on Saturday, September 15. Two town supervisor candidates in the September 18 Republican primary - Michael Yudelson and incumbent Jim Breese - and Town Board candidates Catherine McCabe, William Mulligan, and Anthony Pirrello have been invited. The forum will be held at the Henrietta Public Library on Calkins Road from 1 to 3 p.m.
