DEVELOPMENT: Eyeing that Main Street lot

Developers aren't the only ones paying attention to 420 East Main Street, the large parking lot diagonally across from the Eastman Theatre.
Members of the Grove Place Neighborhood Association have told city officials they want to be involved in discussions about the property's future. Officials are reviewing four proposals for the 1.5 acre site: for a hotel, luxury apartments, and combinations of condos, apartments, and commercial space. "Primarily, we want to see market-rate homeownership, and we want to see some open space," says association president Tom Fink.
