Divine Heresy "Bleed the Fifth"

Locally bred drummer Tim Yeung has been highly respected in the worldwide death metal community since his work with Hate Eternal earned him widespread recognition. Here Yeung is enlisted by Dino Cazares, a co-founder of Fear Factory who blazed an innovative trail in the early ‘90s by bringing industrial and sci-fi influences to death metal and later assembled the hyper-extreme supergroup Brujería. Cazares, booted from FF a few years back, returns to a more traditional death metal riffing style with a vengeance, an approach that perfectly complements Yeung's whirlwind technique. To put it mildly, Yeung's footwork is central to his playing, and the pa-pa-pa-pa-pa he maintains with his limbs dominates this record. Singer Tommy Vext incorporates melody that recalls FF, but Cazares' older fans should be delighted that he's embraced extremity again, and "Bleed" will no doubt lift Yeung's star even higher.
