RECREATION: Rochester Marathon

Published on Sep 12, 2007

Twenty-six-point-two miles is a looooong way to run. But that's just what hundreds of people will do at the Preferred Care Rochester Marathon Sunday, September 16. If you're planning on running the race we certainly hope you've trained (even if it's just for the half-marathon - 13.1 miles doesn't sound like a picnic, either). But for those of us a little less fleet of foot, the event still provides entertainment value. Hang out at the finish line at Frontier Field in High Falls and cheer on the brave, arguably insane men and women. Perhaps their accomplishment will inspire you to lace up your sneakers for next year's race.

The Rochester Marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. at the 300 block of Andrews Street. For more information visit rochestermarathon.com.
