The cover story "Unjust Desserts" quotes me as saying: "The increase in income between 2003 and 2005 for the top 1 percent of Americans - just the increase - is equal to the income of the bottom 57 percent of Americans."
What I should have said is that the increase for the top 1 percent over those two years was equal to 137 percent of the total income of the poorest 57 million Americans, official government data show.
