VIOLENCE: The importance of the fathers

In your article on Latasha Shaw ("Portraits of Loss,"December 12), Shaw's sister says "we forgot about the daddies." What a shame that single mothers disregard the fathers. At least these men are stepping up to the plate. However, if these kids don't know their fathers very well, the trauma will be even worse.
