Clinton fund-raiser
Democrats in support of Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign will hold a fund- raiser at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 25 at Jay's Diner, 2612 West Henrietta Road. Brighton Town Supervisor Sandy Frankel is the keynote speaker.
Anti-war film
Several anti-Iraq War activist groups will host the showing of the 1971 film "Winter Soldier Investigation" on Wednesday, February 27. A panel of veterans will speak after the showing in commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. The film will be shown at the Cinema Theater, 957 South Clinton Avenue, at 7 p.m. Suggested donation: $5.
Teachers in the millennium
Nazareth College presents "Schools are the Answer: Three Challenges for Teachers in the 21st Century," a discussion with Richard Ognibene Jr., the 2008 New York State Teacher of the Year, on Tuesday, February 26. Ognibene, a chemistry and physics teacher at Fairport High School, will talk about No Child Left Behind in the college's Otto Shults Center, 4245 East Avenue, at 5 p.m.
The journey back from domestic violence
Safe Journey, a nonprofit agency supporting survivors of domestic violence, will hold "See the Faces, Hear the Facts: Domestic Violence Community Workshop" on Wednesday, February 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The workshop is the first of four that will be given through March and April.
