DEVELOPMENT: New plans for Linden Hills
Published by Jeremy Moule on Feb 05, 2008
Nightingale Properties has submitted new conceptual plans for a proposed expansion of the Linden Hills Office Park in Penfield. | The planning board will hold a public hearing on the plans at 7 p.m., Thursday, February 14, at Penfield Town Hall, 3100 Atlantic Avenue. | The first plan confines the project - two office buildings and a parking garage - to Penfield. The second plan includes a surface parking lot across the Brighton border, in addition to the Penfield garage. | Linden Hills is next to the Corbett's Glen Nature Park, and environmentalists and neighbors are concerned that the project could harm the park's sensitive ecosystem and sully its scenery. A section of Allens Creek flows through the park, and it is considered an important trout and salmon stream. Corbett's Glen also provides habitat to wildlife, such as deer, fox, and a variety of birds. | The park was purchased by the town of Brighton and the Genesee Land Trust in 2001.
